The craft of handmade shoes is a complex craft that requires time, skill, precision and exceptional attention to detail and not least – a passion for fashion and vocation to shoe-making art.
Before we get to the actual making of your new shoes, our task is to make sure that their form will be cast on your leg. This is done by choosing the precise mold – a specific shoemaker device configured and dimensioned as a replica of your foot.
We prepare the materials, which you choose among our range of luxurious Italian leather, soles and accessories. Even at this stage we perform preliminary quality control by testing all materials to ensure that they comply with our supervised standards of quality and safety. We use only 100% genuine leather originating in Italy and ecological processing without metal content.
Once we have prepared everything necessary for making your GIROTTI shoes, we start the process of cutting. Our designers outline the model chosen and prepare the so-called templates from which the components of the shoe are cut off.
The actual cutting of the leather is made with extreme precision. After being tailored, details undergo additional steps of fine processing of thinning of the edges in the front part, which supports the connection of the separate elements and ensures beauty and quality of your desired shoe. The finest details such as perforations, laser engraving, embroidery, are then formed.
Now it comes to the stage of sewing and preparation of the upper leather part of the shoe. In order to create it, the pieces already cut and worked out are arranged, forming a puzzle from a plurality of different shaped elements which are joined in one piece with the crucibles. The upper shoe part which is already sewn is reinforced with bowler in the field of the toes and a fort in the area of the heel. The finished upper part of the shoe goes to a quality assessing specialist.
During this stage we carry out assembly of individual pieces – upper part, heel, insole and sole, into a whole by mold and bonding. This is one of the phases in the production of shoes in which the precision and accuracy of the human hand is very important for the vision and comfort of your chosen shoe.
The stage begins with the preparation of the mold before the upper part is pulled and precisely fixed thereon. Then we proceed with closing of the upper part from the lower side of the mold, removing the excess material, knocking, gently spreading of the prepared upper part with the mold and on the foot.
Once the necessary technological time is over, we proceed with sticking the foot. So the finished shoe stays the required time on the mold, then the mold is removed and the finishing touches are applied – inserting the insole, shaping the top, applying the finish selected according to the materials and colors, polishing...
During the entire production process of GIROTTI shoes – from the selection of materials in cutting, sewing, shaping to packaging before we send them to you, a team of experienced professionals perform continuous quality control and ensure flawless execution of each individual operation.
We periodically send our finished products to an independent laboratory where they are tested in terms of quality, safety and durability. Results of the tests can be found in our section with certificates.
Once we are satisfied that the shoes created especially for you meet the highest quality standards, we pack them carefully and send them to you by courier.
As a direct manufacturer we usually manage to do all this within two weeks. So you get your dream shoes without having to wait for months, as generally accepted in such a service.
